About Me

Growing up in NYC was an awesome benefit to me as an artist. Being an actor, painter, illustrator were always supported by my family, so going to Brooklyn College for Theater and then having advanced training with great teachers like Anthony Abeson was heaven on Earth.

I've learned about living life to the fullest at six after my best friend passed away. His brief journey in this life taught me that nothing is promised in this world, so TAKE it!!

The great joys along my journey as an actor include working along side Chadwick Boseman (42, Get on Up), the great producer/director Woodie King Jr. and last but not least being directed on stage by the late, great Lloyd Richards.

Acting is one of the greatest gifts that we can be blessed to contribute to the world. It brings me great joy to give the human experience of playing characters for others to relate to. I am most alive when searching out real human emotions and conflicts within my character and with other actors on stage.

My favorite playwrights include Shakespeare, August Wilson, Tennessee Williams and Moliere, to name a few. I seek projects that ask questions of the viewer such as; "Is there a magic,  wonder or a journey that the character goes through that draws "us" to him?"

My goals are to be in great bio dramas with some of the best in the business. I can see it becoming a reality.

Powerful, deep performances; dedication to craft and a consistent work ethic are a sample of what I plan to give to our journey together. My name is George Newton....Join me!!!!
